Baby Diapers

Diaper buying can be a tricky thing – since there are numerous brands and types of diapers out in the market. Because of this, it can be hard to tell what diaper is really the best for your child. To help narrow down your choices, here are some types of diapers and some brands that fall under each of the common types.

Diaper For Newborns

Newborn babies have special needs, even when it comes to diapering. Pampers Swaddlers can fit newborns and babies up to 18 lbs. The diaper features stretchy sides, soft overlapping tabs and a Grow – With – Me fit securing the diaper easily. The diaper also has extra back padding, which is perfect for newborns who usually spend a lot of time on their backs. The front section can be folded, so as to protect the navel area of the newborn baby. The diapers are very soft and are gentle on the skin of newborn babies. However, Pampers Swaddlers are more expensive than regular store brand diapers, and there aren't available in bigger sizes for larger babies.

Eco – Friendly Diapers

Some parents are more earth - conscious when it comes to choosing products for them and their children. For earth friendly parents who still need the convenience of disposable diapers, eco - friendly diapers are lighter on the conscience. Earth's Best TenderCare is an eco – friendly alternative to traditional diapers since they are not treated with chlorine bleach. These diapers are also softer than other eco – friendly diapers, but are very absorbent. Earth's Best TenderCare diapers are made from renewable sources like corn and wheat. The downside to TenderCare diapers, however, is that they cost more than strore – brand diapers.

Heavy Duty Diapers

Leaky diapers in the middle of the night can be a hassle for both parents and babies. Heavy duty diapers like Huggies Overnites Diapers are perfect for night time wear because they lessen night time leaking and sleep disturbance, thereby giving baby a good night's sleep. Huggies Overnights comes in a variety of sizes, fitting most babies and toddlers up to 35 lbs. While Huggies Overnights are more expensive than store brand counterparts, the diapers are well worth the money because they eliminate middle of the night diaper changes – a good thing for both parents and babies. One downside, however, is that the diaper tends to get quite bulky when wet.

Training Pants

Pulled up in the manner similar to underwear, training pants make toilet training easier to do. Huggies Pull – ups can be used in two ways – as a regular diaper with its recloseable side tabs, or as an underwear type pull up. The Pull – Ups also have wetness indicators which disappear when the diaper is wet. The diapers are a bit more expensive than most store brands, but its versatility and kid – friendly designs make up for its price.

Remember that finding the right diaper for your baby is basically a matter of trial and error – you try one diaper for some time, and see how it works. Then, you do the cycle over and over again until you find the perfect one that is gentle on your baby's skin, absorbs wonderfully and gives you value for your money. While this takes some time to do so, it is really an important task because you will be needing reliable diapers for your baby up until his second or third year of life.
