One of the great features of the Maxi-Cosi Mico Infant car seat is that it is compatible with the Quinny Buzz and Quinny Zapp strollers. These strollers are extremely light weight and fold up very compact, perfect for travelling if you have a car with a small trunk.

There are some concerns with the multi-positional rotating sunshade, as some users have found it is difficult to get it to stay in the open position. Others users have had trouble with the locking mechanism, finding it difficult to get the seat to ‘click’ into the base. There was even a announcement made by Maxi-Cosi regarding any Mico seats manufactured in 2008, admitting that many people have reported difficulties. Apparently these problems are now resolved, but you may want to try this out before you buy.

On a positive note, this is a very comfortable seat for babies to sit in. It is also lightweight, which is good for a seat like the Mico that is designed for newborns and small infants, as it can be convenient to carry your sleeping baby in the car seat. The stylish design and range of colors also attract many buyers.

The straps on the Mico do provide a snug fit, which some users find frustrating, but this does ensure that the child is secured in tightly. Some people have also found the center buckle to be difficult to use.

When considering all of the potential usability concerns that parents have experienced with the Maxi-Cosi Modi, it would be advisable to find one to try out before purchasing. It is a more expensive seat, only good until 22lbs, and several owners are less than 100% happy. It does have a high safety rating, however, is light to carry, attractive and babies seem to find it comfortable. Depending on your priorities this may or may not be the right first seat for your newborn, but it would be unwise to expect to have a completely seamless user experience, unless you are the lucky one!
