The Safety 1^st Summit Deluxe High Back Booster allows your child to wear a 5-point harness until 40 lbs, and then use the seat as a belt-positioning booster until 100lbs. The only thing to say on this note is that there are other seats that will keep your child rear-facing until 40lbs, which is safer, and in a harness until 65lbs, which is also safer. This seat, however, obviously meets safety regulations, so your child would be safe using it.

Owners do note that this is a heavy seat, so if you plan on using it in multiple cars and switching it often, or using it on a plane, you may want to look for a lighter model.

Another thing users mention is that for children on the lower end of the weight spectrum (20-30 lbs) their heads may fall forward when they nap. This is one of the reasons some companies offer rear-facing, more reclined seats up to 40lbs. Please remember that a child can NEVER be forward facing until they are 1 year, no matter how heavy they are.

Some users also find the LATCH system does not latch tight enough for their liking, but they solve this problem by using the seatbelt attachment as well. You are required by law to use the seatbelt attachment after your child is 48lbs, so this is not a huge inconvenience.

If you have a child prone to big messes, this seat could drive you a little crazy. The cover is removable and machine washable, but reportedly very hard to remove and replace. The padding is generous though, and the material of high quality.
